Child Abuse

Sexual abuse involves forcing, tricking, bribing, threatening, or pressuring a child into sexual awareness or activity. Sexual abuse when an older or more knowledgeable child or an adult uses a child for sexual pleasure. The abuse often begins gradually and increases over time. It is always the offender that is 100% responsible for child sexual abuse. Child sexual abuse is never, not in whole or in part, the victims fault. informed consent is not possible at that age.

Sexual abuse is an abuse of power over a child and a violation of a child's right to normal, healthy, trusting relationship. Most children cannot or do not tell about being sexually abused, it is up to the concerned adults to recognize signs of abuse. Physical evidence of abuse is rare. So if a child will not tell you about their problem you must look for signs. Unfortunately, there is no one behavior alone that definitely determines a child has been sexually abused. here are a few signs to tell if your child has been sexually abused:

a) worry about getting into trouble or getting a loved one into trouble.

Sexual activity or pregnancy at an early age

About 95% of victims know their perpetrators.

Isolation: Because they think "something is wrong with me" and because they feel alone in their experience.

Fear: Of losing adults important to them, of being taken away form home or of being "different".
