One of the most controversial books of all time is Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn. Huck Finn uses the "N" word over 200 times and has been banned from many public schools all over the United States. Many people have asked the question, is Huck Finn a racist book that portrays negative views of African Americans? Also many wonder whether Mark Twain was a racist man. Although there are many racists comments in Mark Twains book "Huckleberry Finn," the book isn't racist because it shows multi-cultural races being friends, it aids the reader into understanding the book and it also portrays how life was really back in the 19th century.

When Huck ran away to Jackson's island and he saw that Jim was there to he was glad that he had someone to be with even if it was a black person. Also, when Huck and Jim get lost in the fog and they both are very happy they found each other again, that shows the bond between them. When Jim sees Huck he says, "Goodness gracious, is dat you, Huck...It's too good for true, honey it's too good for true." There are many parts of Huck Finn that prove the book isn't racist and one includes the multi-cultural relationships in the book.
