"George Orwell's 1984 is the expression of a mood, and it is a warning (Erich Fromm)." After Word War II, many people who read this novel experienced mixed reactions. It cannot be denied however, that George Orwell made some stunning predictions about the future and also took some important metaphors from the past and present. Therefore, 1984 stands as a symbol of a way of life that we hope will never exist, but in so many ways has already begun.
