The story takes place in Redding, Connecticut during the American Revolutionary War in the 1770's. My Brother Sam Is Dead was written by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier. This book is narrated by the main character by Tim Meeker. The Meeker family was managing absolutely fine until Sam told his loyalist family that he would be fighting the British and become a rebel. As the war continued, Tim had to make a choice to either become a loyalist like his father, who he admired and loved, or become a rebel like his brother who he always looked up to.
