"September, 1918 by the modernist poet Amy Lowell was very enlightening poem. It gave a sense of hope and imagination. It was how the writer wanted to see the world in the year of 1918, during World War I. The poet was speaking of the war between the United States adn Germany, one of the first wars of the country that she was exposed to. Lowell was painting a picture of how the world should have been compared to the way it really was. The first stanza paints a picture of a perfect day.
