"A Tale of Two Cities" is written by Charles Dickens and it takes place in France and England during the troubled times of the French Revolution. most of the story happens in Paris, France. It is a story about love and tragedy and making the ultimate sacrifice for the ones you love. Its also a story about change and revolution and is a historically accurate, but fictitious account about the events of a real place during a real emergency. “A Tale of Two Cities” is a great book on historical events told through the lives of fictitious, but entertaining characters.The hot spot of the French revolutionists, mostly takes place in a wine shop in Paris. The action in the book takes place in many parts of Paris such as the Bastille, Tellson´s Bank, the home of the Manettes and largely in the streets of Paris (Charles Dickens 76). These places help introduce many characters into the story. One of the main characters, Madame Theresa Defrage, is a major antagonist. Through out the story, she weaves shrouds for the intended victims of the revolution.
