Is abortion right or wrong? This is a debate that has gone on for years, swaying back and forth from illegal to legal. Are you pro-life or pro-choice; is it murder or is it getting rid of something you don't want? One of the major arguments is, "When does life begin?" Among those who call themselves pro-life, 88% say life begins at conception. Among those who are pro-choice, only 23% believe life begins at conception (When does life begin). I believe life begins at conception; but I still think abortion is wrong no matter when you think life begins. God put that child in its mother's womb for a reason. The child should have the right to live and fulfill its purpose in life. If you think about it, would you like to have been killed? Abortion is murder, no matter what the situation is. If a mother doesn't want to keep the baby, she can put it up for adoption; there is no need to kill it.Those who are pro-choice believe there should be a choice to whether you want to keep the baby or not. Abortionists believe that you're not really killing the fetus, since it was never alive. They also believe that if you were raped then you shouldn't have to keep it because you didn't want it. Finally, there is the point that they believe a fetus cannot think. Pro-choice people believe that a fetus cannot think of the pain it is going through; therefore abortions are not wrong. Dreams require unconscious thought, so the fetus must be able to think. When a pregnant woman is given the death penalty while she is pregnant, she is required to give birth to the baby before she is killed.
