Abortion
The issue of abortion has been very controversial throughout the years. This issue has been argued from ethical stands, human rights, religious beliefs and even politically. Efforts have been made legally, but it does not seem that a widespread compromise or settlement has been made that the majority of the general public can agree upon. Therefore, we still see and read through the news that the world complicated scientific problems have been solved, but social issues can not find a solution.I believe that abortion should be banned, for it is disliked politically in most countries, and religiously. I believe that these are the strongest sides and which will be discussed in the essay. Abortion: "An abortion is the forcible removal of a developing baby from the womb of his or her mother, using surgical, mechanical, or chemical means" (Podell 5). This act has been legalized in some countries throughout the world. The People's Republic of China requires abortion under certain circumstances. Abortion is not a new practice. It has been a practice used by many different cultures since the early days of civilization. Abortion has been approved because the restriction of the size of families is needed. Like many societies in the past, w
What is happening in our current time is not very pleasant. There are many people and groups in many different societies, especially in Europe and America, had forgot their morals and religion. The freedom of choice had become more important than religion. People do what they think is right and what they think is logic. Religion only has some influence, but unfortunately it has lost its importance in this side of the world. Nowadays, people are choosing the secular over the sacred. Even some people who talk and act as if the believe in some thing that is considered right, when they come to face the situation in reality the unexpected happens, especially in abortion cases. It seems as if having a baby is the worst possible thing that could happen to a person. Having a baby, in fact, is a gift from God that people should be thankful of having. The major reason for having an abortion goes back to the lack of religious beliefs and practices, which leads to committing sins. That is why many unmarried women and girls get pregnant, and the problem gets worse and worse. Therefore, not only the issue of abortion, but many other social issues should be studied and looked at deeply in order to improve towards a better life. The Islamic faith, takes it rules and regulations from the Shari'ah, the Islamic law. The Shari'ah is a combination of rules from the Quran, the holy book of the Islamic faith, and the teachings of the prophet Muhammad. In the Quran, there is a passage that refers to a progressive development of the fetus that mentions the following: "O mankind! If you are in doubt as to the Resurrection, [consider] that We have created you of earth; then of semen, then of a blood-like clot; then a lump of flesh, [which is] formed or unformed; so that We may demonstrate to you [our power]; and We establish in the wombs what We will, till a stated term; then We bring you out as infants..."(Quran S.22: 4) In the Catholic Church we see that both popes, who are the highest religious people disbe
