One of the most important parts of our country that the affirmative action standards hurt is our economy; it damages our economy because due to the unfair standards that affirmative action represents we don't always have the most efficient person working in the workforce that they applied for. In concluding I would like to sum up my thoughts by saying that the affirmative action standards can obviously be argued either way, but in the end our supreme court believes that they are still constitutional or they would have voted them out by now. I personally believe that they serve a good purpose and will continue to do so for a period of time. Eventually though, I think that American citizens of all races and genders will begin to see these standards as prejudice and unconstitutional. At this point in time they are still somewhat justified because if you look at the figures, white males have a higher standard on average than females or blacks and also have a higher employment rate.

Another way, in which, affirmative action benefits our country is by helping our families get out generation after generation of poverty. Over our nations history it seems that a high percentage of children who are born into poverty stricken families end up getting caught in a hole of debt that they never seem to over come. This happens time and time again, but the affirmative action standards give them a much better chance to better their lifestyles.
