Alcohol

Legally when teen-agers turn eighteen, they are classified as adults. Their parent sends them off to "conquer" the world. They are able to enter the military and be drafted, go to college, get a job and are able to support a marriage if needed to, along with children. In addition to paying taxes and having the right to vote, they are set free and the rest of their life is in their hands. Now alcohol may mess many young adults life's up. Even though they are legally allowed to do all these new things, alcohol is still not one of them. So basically they are allowed to have families and defend our country but not have a drink. Many young adults do drink illegally and more than half of the them result in bad outcomes. Alcohol is one of the most deadly drugs obtainable and biggest drug problems that face young people today.

Even though alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs out there today, which cause possibly the most life threatening problems, young adults still do it. There are many reasons why a young adult under the legal drinking age, 21, will pick up a drink. This problem with alcohol occurs all over the country in schools, families, and colleges. The first, and probably the strongest, reason why young adults

Poor labeling believe it or not is the fifth reason that causes young adults to drink. If teens go into stores to purchase a drink and had to choose the alcoholic drinks from the nonalcoholic ones, only two of three would be able to. That statement right there proves that the companies producing alcoholic drinks do not want the label to be so noticeable because they might make more money. Teens will buy them, imaging the store clerk let's it slide, and the alcoholic company has had an extra sale.

A second reason why young adults drink is due to the amount of stress in their life. Many feel fed up with the world and feel that there is nothing that they can do other than drink. It sort of makes their problems go away temporary. The stress they often experience in their lives comes from family, school, and society. Those three are basically what make up a young adults life. Their family life may come to them as stress because of problems with a certain parent, the lack of communication with parents or the separation of parents. These situations cause young adults to not know how to deal with the situation, which then leads them to drinking. The school part of the stress can be caused by not making the grades they wanted or not fitting in, or the modern day term, being "popular." The rejection from school and not being happy with themselves after their peers do not accept them can make them result to drinking. Last the social issue is probably the biggest part. Today most young adults are not to independent and feel that they have to be accepted by everyone in order to be considered normal. They may not know what else to do to impress others so they try drinking. Yes this may seem cool for the time but in the long run, it's not. Alcohol in a way allows the young adults to get away from all their issues dealing with school, their family and society.

drink are social and/or peer pressure. Many times when they are out with their friend whether at and party or club, some of them may feel pressures to drink just because everyone else is. Many like it because when they do drink there are more friendly and outgoing. If they don't accept the drink, others may put them down as not cool. They make them feel that they
