There was a man that had nothing to offer people but his wisdom. This man got great pride out of teaching others what he knew. This man that many people of his time despised so much for his beliefs, that they wanted him gone from their community for good. This man was Socrates. Were the men of this community afraid of change? Where all the poets, politicians, artisans, and judges scared that Socrates' way of beliefs were right Socrates was a poor common man who had nothing of value and nothing to gain by giving his knowledge to those who wanted more for there life and, to those who would just sit and listen to what he had to say about life. Socrates was the kind of man that believed you were better off fulfilling your soul, rather than filling your pockets with money or buying foolish things. To Socrates knowledge was power. Whoever had the knowledge held the power. These men of Socrates' time were afraid that Socrates was the true man of all the knowledge, and they did not want a man like him in their community teaching their children.
