More than ten percent of anorexics die because of the effects on their body from self-starvation. Besides the affected heart rate and blood pressure, minerals can also be imbalanced and cause permanent damage to organs. Osteoporosis is also developed easier because of the lack of calcium and excessive exercise. Unfortunately, death is also an effect of this disorder. Heart attacks and starvation are the effects of advanced stages of the illness and sometimes are untreatable.

Preventing this illness is a mental as well as physical process. Accepting the body that God gives you and seeing yourself as made in his image should be focused on instead of diets. People should be more involved in being different from being thin like the majority. Eating nutritiously, regularly and moderate exercise should develop good habits and help your body. Researching the disorder thus enables you to be aware of the effects as well as the symptoms. Preventing is something that many people do not think about until it is too late.
