Birth Control-An Overview

Everyday another young girl is finding out that she is pregnant and telling their partner. Why are more and more young girls becoming pregnant now days? Due to the lack of birth control. These young girls are either unaware or incorrectly using birth control and not thinking about the possible consequences. They are decreasing their chances of going to college, traveling, or achieving their goals in life. Instead, they are increasing the possibility of becoming pregnant or getting an STD or disease, of which neither they are mentally, physically, or economically ready to handle. Birth control has become a very important part in teenagers' lives across the world because they are choosing to become sexually active at young ages. Without birth control more and more young girls especially and women will continue to have babies that they are more than likely not able to care for. Through using birth control more young girls will be able to become the doctors, lawyers, and corporat!

Around the world, the United States helps other countries with their birth control/family planning awareness, usage, and communication. The United States has had for many years international support programs that help women in the poorest of places to receive some form of birth control (International Family). Through these programs women all over have been able to become better educated on how to care for themselves and others. Yet, though these programs are in effect, there are still 150 million women who want birth control but do not have the means to receive it. The programs, which are in over 60 different countries, are very effective. They help reduce the child mortality rate, protect public health, educate women and girls, and foster economic growth (International Family). These countries use some of the same methods of birth control that we use in the Unite States. By them using birth control now, it also helps in reducing the spread of STDs and HIV/AIDS because they are being educated about them through the use of birth control.
