The airline industry has seen better days since the September 11th attack on the United States. The overall business environment of American Airlines has suffered tremendously since the attacks. On September 11th, two American flights were hijacked. Flight 11 carrying 81 passengers, 9 flight attendants, and 2 pilots crashed into tower one of the world trade center. Flight 77 carrying 58 passengers, 4 flight attendants, and 2 pilots crashed into the Pentagon. Also on November 12th, an American Airlines Airbus A300 aircraft crashed into a Queens neighborhood after takeoff killing a total of 260 people. That crash was due to mechanical American Airlines is part of AMR Corporations which is also the parent company of TWA and American Eagle. AMR’s corporate vision is to be the leading airline by focusing on safety, service, network, product, technology, and culture.
