Bob Marley

Bob Marley is best known for his dread locks and Rustafarian music. Second to that he is also known for his strong political opinions. His tendency to "tell it like it is" is very evident in this song whose message is that everyone should be treated equal and we should stand together as the human race and fight for these rights. Bob Marley stresses that the people who are experiencing discrimination must let their voices of injustice be heard and there is no better time than the present. Waiting for God to come and "take away all the pain and make everybody feel high" is not the answer. The problems exist now and we all have to take a stand and fight for equality and against prejudices. We need to do that for ourselves and for each other. I interpret his message as saying that we are stronger in numbers and that in masse we can rise up together, present a united front and make a difference in this never ending fight for justice and dignity.

One of the main reasons why I chose this artist and song is because Bob Marley is religious man. In this song he writes, "Most people think great God will come from the sky Take away ev'rything, and make ev'rybody feel high But if you know what life is worth You would lo

I definitely agree with Bob Marley's statements and opinions throughout the song. I feel that he has, throughout his career, stated his views bluntly yet has respected the opinions of others. His messages have never caused rioting or public disturbances because his messages come with peace. I believe that that all lines of prejudice should be erased and that everyone should be treated equally. I admire the fact that Bob Marley listens and respects the opinions of others even those people that embrace criticism and oppression of other human beings. Bob Marley continues to encourage the oppressed to rise up together and stand up for themselves. This way is definitely a much more positive way of accomplishing this goal.

The message that I got from this song is that people should unite, stand up for themselves and work together. It is clear that Bob Marley is very passionate about his feelings and causes and he portrays this in most of his songs. Life is to be lived and enjoyed, but we can't forget the pain and suffering of others and we must always take the time and energy to preserve the rights of others as well as our own. We all must do our part in striving for a content an
