Camparison Beween the Two Stories

The two stories "The third bank of the river" and "Love" have some similarities and differences. They both have to do with deep understanding of life that the characters experience in their own little world. Some readers, like me for instance, will not understand the stories in the sense they were written. I think the authors write their stories in a broad kind of way so that readers can interpret the story anyway they see it fit. Authors go deep in their stories leaving the readers on their own to figure out the whole concept of a story. Despite the hardship of the interpretation of the two stories I was able to pick up some similarities and differences between the two.

In the story "Love" Anna is bothered by the blind man not being able to enjoy life like normal people can. The author shows this by explaining that Anna goes on with her life and spends each day smoothly, but after the day she met that blind man everything changed. She looked at life as though it was unfair and cruel. Everything annoyed her, made her mad, she felt that life was filled to the brim with sickening nausea. It bothered her that she could see all the beauty of life but the blind man couldn't. This showed that we take life for granted, we don't see all

for instance, they do what they believe is right. Not solving the dispute and not finding the better way out they kill thousands of innocent people. The only way to describe this is egocentrism. One thinks he has got the answer and whatever he says is the best way out. Like we say in my language 'one alone is not a warrior on the battle field' meaning one can't always solve his/her problems alone. We have to always share our thoughts and compare them with others. Maybe someone else can understand you and can help you out with your struggles.

r bringing us to this world. The narrator shows this when he tells us that his dad was circling around the river which symbolizes his life going round and round and not getting anywhere. River would represent life for it is spacious and isn't going anywhere. Every now and then the nature would take its course and the river would widen and wash away the trees and everything that stands in the way. Just like in real life people die and are taken away from people close to them. The father wants us to think about our lives, to ask ourselves what we live for.

the beautiful gifts we were given. We tend to ignore these things for we are more concerned about how to get through the day. We see the different view of life by the father in the "The third bank of the river", he is not happy with the way life is and what happens during our lives. He sees that there isn't anything special that goes on in our existence. Life is pointless in his eyes, although we thank
