McCandless although an educated man has clearly shown actions of adolescence. He has shown a clear level of immaturity. Along with the mentality of a 7 year old little boy who runs away because his mother had made him brush his teeth before bed this is clearly stated in the book McCandless states on many occasions his reasons for his trip and he clearly states that he didn't want to live by anybody's rules for example when McCandless was asked if he had a license for the gun he was carrying he replied "Hell no how I feed myself is none of the governments business. Fuck their stupid rules" Pg.6. McCandless has also shown no concern for his family nor the feelings of his parents who if are even half normal and decent human beings are probably worried sick about their son's welfare. McCandless shows this lack of concern for other people by simple statements such as when he was asked if his parents knew of his plans he replied with "no nobody knows of my plans in fact I haven't spoken to my family in nearly two years. How can anyone who is emotionally stable go for this great amount of time with out have spoken a word to any member of his family. Any decent human regardless of the disagreements that you might have with your family members they are still exactly that your family members. No one has ever said you have to love everyone in your family this is true however out of common courtesy you should show them respect.
