Chemistry in Engineering
In today's society chemistry is greatly involved in the world of engineering. Whether it is aerospace, mechanical, environmental or other engineering fields the makeup of substances is always a key factor which must be known. Engineering today has morphed from only dealing with the physical aspect of the field into the theory behind the field. All engineering fields have unique bonds with the chemistry world. We will discuss many of these bonds in the pages to come.Being the most interesting field of engineering, and the fact that it's my major we will talk about Aerospace Engineering first. Aerospace was devised so that we could further our knowledge in the field of aviation and space flight. When the Wright brothers designed their first fixed winged aircraft they had to understand the concepts of lift, drag, and thrust. Aerospace engineering deals in depth with these three concepts and more. With Boeing and other companies now producing aircraft as large and bigger than 747's the engineers must find ways to make the planes lighter and more efficient as they become enormous. New alloys and metal compositions must be discovered and new forms of engines must be created mor
Other situations in which environmental engineers work with chemistry are when they are looking for solutions to future problems. What do I mean by future problems? Future problems refer to problems that have not yet risen but will come in the future. Some of these problems are things such as global warming and future pollutions created by new fuels. This paragraph will be dedicated to the conclusion of the paper. In essence, engineering of all kinds in today's world relies on chemistry is some way, shape, or form. People use chemistry every day. For as long as humans are on this planet, people will always be looking for a way to make things stronger and lighter. I predict that in the future, chemistry in engineering will take us to a whole new level that none of us can even comprehend for the time being. Items will become so light and efficient that the cost of surviving will become minimal and people will no longer be placed in income brackets, but everyone will be able to live with all of today's luxuries. This will eliminate many of the wars and issues that people have with one another. Chemistry will allow us to fly from one side of the earth to the other in less than an hour. People will be able to travel in no time and business men and women will no longer have to fly for hours, but only for minutes. This will conserve time and energy and the world will hopefully just be a happier place. Chemistry in engineering will help to almost eliminate pollution and we will then be able to prevent global warming and other global disasters. As the internal combustion engine becomes obsolete, pollution that we have in today's world will become non existent. The skies will be cleaner and the air will be easier to breathe. As we move on into the twenty first century, the world that we know today will seem like a brand new place. Chemistry in the future will create an environment that is perfect for humans and other air breathing creatures. Humans will move into the next few years with high hopes and goals. As we begin to produce lighter and stronger metals, aircraft will become amazingly light and fast. At the present time, most people can only imagine what it is like to visit countries way around the world such as India and China. In the near future, we will not only wonder what it is like over there, but we will just go there and find out. Chemistry is vital to the planet. It allows people to develop ways to save their planet. It also allows people to improve their way of life. Engineering is just as important. Without engineering people would not be able to strive for things such as going to Mars and even farther. As time goes on and people get smarter and smarter, we will make it to Mars and beyond and we will further understand how to survive out of our home element. Chemistry in today's engineering department is really important. Without the combination of the two, people would not be doing things that they do. These items include things such as driving cars and flying heavier than air planes. Hopefully in the days and weeks and years to come, these two fields will form a much closer and more efficient bond. Since engineering is the field that I am going to, I hope that these two areas of math will be around for a long, long time. Well now that we have gone over many of the engineering fields, don't you think that we should go ahead and talk about the rest of them? Great, so do I. The next field of engineering that we are going to talk about is the field known as Engineering Technolog
