Civic efficacy is about having values and attitudes. It means Developing a reasoned commitment to public values of this society, being able to deal with conflicts, having basic human rights and protecting those rights, Developing reasoned loyalty to this nation , Bonding with other humans, and treating oneself and others with respect. I volunteered to be a D.A.R.E role model. Basically we met with 5th graders and talked about high school, drugs, and alcohol. I realized it's important to teach little kids at a very early age about what's right and wrong and how to be a good citizen. I remember being a little scared before I started talking to the kids, because I knew I was older then them and what I said mattered. It was like I was their role model and they looked up to me. So I had to be careful about what I said but I had to say the truth at the same time. By teaching and helping these kids and trying to set their values and morals I developed a kinship with them and I helped them identify their problems and draw conclusions to them.
