When parents start saving excessive amounts of money in an account in hopes that their son or daughter will use that money to go to college, often they are faced with an in the face shocker: "binge drinking" on campus nationwide. Many parents know that there is drinking on campus, but their little Tommy/Susie are all grown up and are supposed to make the best decisions possible. But the peer pressure is enormous compared to those high school days and if you want to be in a fraternity or sorority you often go through "rush week" which consists of pranks, jokes, pledging and serious drinking. College is supposed to be one of the most major accomplishments one could ever endure. But is dying at a young age something you look forward to? I don't believe many teenagers believe it could happen to them and that's why the fear really isn't there. It's more adrenaline than anything and the wanting to fit in. There are many students as statistics show that have given into the pressures of everyday life in college and turn to drinking as an escape. But what are the colleges to do if there's no drinking on campus; someone off campus will just throw a party. So what is one to do? Don't give into the pressures.
