With the passing of my father, I have been fortunate to inherit his fortune. As I travel deeper into my 40's, I have finally realized that I am not getting any younger. I work for New Line Cinema as an executive producer and I have produced some of the biggest movies in the last twenty years. Each of these movies has influenced our society and brought back a youthfulness loss over the years since World War Two. My wife tells me I am having a "midlife crisis"; however I believe I can conquer this "crisis" if only I could bring back the youthfulness loss in America. I am now capable of producing this lost youthfulness. With the money my father has left me and the backing of AOL TimeWarner (the company that owns New Line Cinema), I have decided to produce a magazine. With the backing of AOL TimeWarner, I'll be able to reach a large population of the American culture. My market is simple-everybody who can read. I want to produce what is considered a "general interest" magazine which appeals to the old and young. Basically I want to reinvent the most successful magazine in our nations history, Life. Life appealed to a broad range of people. It told stories as well as informing people of news and world events. I want t
Almost Famous will be disrupted by Time Inc. and published in New York at the Rockefeller Center. Almost Famous will be a very photographic magazine. In striving to keep the youth of America strong, the magazine will focus on everything. There will be sports, health and wellness, music, movies, books, fashion and beauty, business and finance, new products and technology, and so forth. Also included will be the cover story of a person(s) with enough information for one to know better than themselves. The center fold will relate to the cover story and fold out to cover a four page spread. Each issue will contain the usual magazine features: letter to the editor, letter from the editor, and columns from journalists. In addition to this, Almost Famous will contain the mission statement of AOL TimeWarner at the beginning of every issue. Each issue will contain a special pull out section of about twenty pages which covers an event in our nation everybody could enjoy. The magazine will contain its own advertising as I stated earlier. Unlike most magazines which use the back cover for an advertisement, my magazine will feature the coming attractions for the following issue. The headlines on the back will be the focus of commercials the public will view over the next month until the release date. Almost Famous is a monthly magazine. The size of the magazine will be your typical magazine size 11" x 8" and consist of between 150 and 180 pages an issue. Advertising will consist of between 25% and 30% of an average issue.
