Dedication Defined
A detailed Summary of Dedication Defined
There are some words in the English language that can mean so much. It amazes me how a few sounds put together can convey emotion, or hold an extravagant amount of meaning. Dedication is one of these words. It holds a different meaning to each person who hears it. With these traits accompanying a word, it is difficult to place a simple definition upon a word. Dedication is defined in many English dictionaries, and is known by many people across the world. I am going to delve into the meaning of dedication. That testimony defines dedication better than any dictionary. Risking everything that you ever worked for, risking everything that is ever to come, to save other people, is dedication. Upon my research, I did not come across one article or web page that told of a fire fighter or police officer that strayed from the collapsing buildings. There is something instilled in the oath of duty that these fine people take that exploits dedication to the fullest extent.
"For thousands of horrified office workers who fled the terrorist attacks, the most remarkable sight during their descent was the wave of determined firefighters advancing toward the burning sky.
Different acts and traditions are performed to commemorate an event. A type of dedication is eating turkey on thanksgiving. Another is taking communion to remember Christ's death. These are all acts of remembrance on which a day is dedicated to commemorate. James Stone wanted to remember the people who were lost in the World Trade Center tragedy, so he dedicated his web page to the victims. He explains the dedication the workers had :
