The sun comes up, the sun goes down, to some this Friday is an ordinary day, but to me it is the night for football. The feelings we athletes get from the atmosphere and the locker room are feelings one can only feel if he or she plays the game. These feeling surpass anything that anyone can ever feel in his or her life.

School is over time to go to the Bison Locker Room. It may smell like sweat that is five days old or clothing that hasn't been washed for a year at a time. Playing the vicious game of football the smell becomes part of me. Once I walk into the locker room the stench hits me in the face, as does the decorations put up by the parents to give us some motivation to go out and beat our opponent and make them look like a rag doll. From the time I enter the locker room all I think about is the game. The room is silent and I am able to tell that all anyone is picturing is the game that is to come in about an hour.

The visualizations in the player's head are so clear and precise from every play, every step, and every hit. Every player sees these visualizations before every game. The environment outside of the locker room is about the same as the locker room for us, but different for the crowd. As I walk out with the green just cleaned jersey on that is ready to get all stained in the opponent's blood, I feel the crowd hollering, cheering, and screaming for us to beat them to a pulp. We can hear the metal cleats of hitting the broken asphalt under the mud-clumped soles from the following practice. The players are silent, thinking of how we are going to play and focused on the one goal of coming back into the locker room hollering due to a "w" in the books. The field is calling our names, waiting for us to walk on it and put our life on the line for the love of the game. The halogen lights shinning from all four corners of the field and cheering crowds is the best part.

From the dew on the grass, to the intensity every player brings out onto the field, no other individual that does not play will ever feel or have a love for a sport as we football players do. Without each part of the atmosphere the game could never be the same. To certain people it is a social event, but to the players who have the school's jersey on, it is pride and a way of life that no one would ever give up to sit in the stands and watch. The game will end and so will life but the memories from the sport on Friday night will be a legacy in every individua
