search for love
A detailed Summary of search for love
Through the journey of life there exists the need for success and happiness. The factors that determine success and happiness are purely subjective, what is considered successful to one person maybe a failure in the eyes of another person. Happiness and success are interchangeable terms. Happiness can be the criteria one uses to measure success and vice versa. It is an essential part of human nature for a person to find and seek happiness. It is love that is the driving force and motivation for one to seek happiness. Love can manifest itself in different ways for different people. Love can be thought of as the affection that couples have towards one another, the desire of a fantasy, or the plutonic bond between two friends. Success, happiness, and love are intrinsic components of one another. Happiness can be obtained from the fulfillment of the love one possesses. The characters in the book, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, are all in search of happiness, and the search for happiness begins with a vision of what love is. Each of the characters have a different search as well as a different vision of love.
The title of the book, The Heart is a lonely Hunter sets the tone for the characters of t

The fact that Mick is young gives her the time to search and redefine what her vision of love is. Mick's search for happiness is really just a search for acceptance and at the same time independence. Basically what Mick is trying to do, is deal with her adolescence. Along with all the pressures that teenagers have to go through Mick also has to deal with poverty. Mick is also an artist, but she never gets a chance to fulfill that dream. Mick's love for music is the one thing she has that can make here happy. Singer eventually becomes friends with Mick and listens to music with her. Obviously Singer is deaf and can't hear the music, but plays along with Mick any way. As Mick moves from adolescence into women hood, the vision of love that she
educating the black community, they can become something important. Dr. Copeland tried to advance the black community, by educating his children so that they may someday be the save the black community from the oppression of the white man. The irony and hopelessness here is that the black community rejects the idea of educating themselves, so that they become something they don't want to be. Another thing, Dr. Copeland alienated himself from his family when he attempted to raise his children his way. The resentment that Dr. Copeland's children have towards him can easily be seen in this passage from Heart is a lonely Hunter, "A person can't pick up they children and just squeeze them to which-a-way they wants them to be. Whether it hurt them or not. Whether it right or wrong. You done that hard as any man could try." (67). Dr. Copeland means well and is only trying to help, but no one wants to listen to him. All that is left are the futile dreams and aspirations of a bitter old man. The happiness that Dr. Copeland is searching is not attainable. Dr. Copeland wants to be a father figure and community leader (Budick 269). Mick's search for happiness however is not as futile as Dr. Copeland's search for happiness.
The interesting thing about the relationship between Antonapoulos and Singer is that Antonapoulos does not share the same love and affection that Singer feels towards him (Budick 267). Often times Singer wo
