His black shoes match the black briefcase that he places on his cluttered desk. Checking his messages, he sits down in his office chair and turns on his computer. All around him people are buzzing. Clark Kent is a mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet. Born and raised in Smallville, Kansas; he now lives alone in an apartment in downtown Metropolis. He fits the mold of the stereotypical business man in any bustling city of commerce. With his suit, briefcase, and cellular phone, he can not blend in more. But who am I kidding? Like Superman, we hide under a false identity. An identity that is based upon our chracteristics that we are, or would like to be known for. Often we feel we have to mask our true identity from society. We hide our feelings, our thoughts, our true passions, so as not to break apart from this norm that we as a society of self-conscience beings, create out of fear. Fear of embarrassment and fear of being ridiculed for our feelings. As a result, many of us keep our identity behind a secret-identity, behind a typical lifestyle and typical characteristics.
