The Wife of Bath’s tale is a tale of a knight that was sent on a task by the queen. This task was of utmost importance to him, because if he failed he would loose his life. The task was to find what women wanted the most. The knight traveled far to distant lands, and still he could not find the answer he seeked. The knight, terrified at the thought he would loose his life, returned towards his home. On the last stretch of his journey home, he comes across an old lady and he begs of her to help him.
