In nineteenth century England, Lord Acton observed that "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Since the beginning of mankind, individuals have vied for the power to control others. In the tragedy of Macbeth, William Shakespeare focused on Macbeth's desire for political power at all costs, however, the connection between power and corruption can exist in many contexts such as the relationship between employees and their employers.
