Thirty-one years ago black men and women raised their voices, their fists and their spirits to come together to fight against racism. Others call them the righteous revolutionaries who possessed the courage to stare down at brutal police officers. This group of people was known as "The Black Panther Party." This Party was a very progressive political organization which was the most powerful movement since the Revolution of 1776 and the Civil War and it also was responsible for the social change in America. It was the sole black organization in the history of black struggle against slavery and oppression in the United States. The Party was armed and it promoted a revolutionary agenda. The Black Panther Party represents the last great thrust by a number of blacks for equality, justice, and freedom. It was the most influential organization that opened the eyes for many Americans and paved the way for all the different nationalities and ethnic groups in America. The Black panther Party fed the hungry, protected the weak from many racist officials and gave many people hope.
