Of all of the mysteries that are associated with ancient Egypt, none are more spell bounding than the myths that surround the great King Tutankhamun and his tomb. Until King Tut's tomb was discovered in 1922, his name was only known from scattered writings on the walls of the temples, but since the tomb's discovery, the world now knows of King Tut's treasures and even his curse. It's is believed that Tut died in 1343 B.C. No one knows for sure, but it is thought that he was murdered. This is a theory because of the massive dent that is imprinted in to his skull. Some theorists even think that they know who may have killed him. It would have been impossible for any common person in the society to get close enough to Tut to kill him. So, it is said that he may have been murdered by an official, or someone else of great importance. When opened, people were surprised by the fact that his tomb was almost in perfect condition. After the opening of the tomb, a number of strange things happened that eventually led people to believe in the so called curse of Tut's tomb. The Egyptians believed heavily in the afterlife. They wanted their buried one's to be protected in the afterlife, and they also wanted to protect their burial sites from robbers and Political enemies. To do this, the Egyptians would make these tombs in hard to find places and they would place curses on any tomb violators. These curses are believed by some to be the cause of the deaths of the men who helped open the tomb. Five months after the opening of the tomb, Lord Carnarvon died of blood poisoning after he was bitten by a mosquito. One of the strangest accounts I heard of is this one....before the discovery, Carter bought a Canary because he thought that it would bring them good luck in finding the supposed "Temple of Gold".
