If the computer when the power is turned on makes beeping noises, and never boots up, that means you have a problem with your RAM. That means probably that you don't have it in far enough. If the computer when turned on gives you error messages then your hard drive is messed up in this case you might have to shell out 150 dollars to replace it. When turning on the screen and not getting anything that means that your graphics card isn't plugged in all the way.

All this is the way to fix it if you don't feel like taking it in to a computer repair shop. But if you want to have it done proficiently, and don't mind paying 200-300 dollars to have it repaired then that might be the better option.
