It all started in 1860 when a business man named Eberhard Anheuser first financed a loan for a struggling local brewery and later bought up the interests of minority creditors. His son-in-law, Adolphus Busch joined the company as a salesman four years later. Over time, Adolphus became a partner and then president of the company.
