Most adults consider immaturity a negative quality among their peers. At one time or another just about everyone has had the intended insult flung at them, "You're so immature!" Is immaturity an insult? Hmmmph, how ludicrous. I've always looked at immaturity as a positive quality. Here are some reasons why.

Immature people are usually curious, unpredictable, rebellious, have willingness for change, and most importantly display a sense of humor. It is this sense of humor that keeps life in perspective (your most important "sense"). Let me illustrate further with a couple of quotes from Tom Robbins.

"Therefore, if you're immature you're still growing, still learning, and questioning conventional concepts. Although in mature circles it's considered tedious, meddling, trying, and insubordinate."

It is the atmosphere of immaturity in which change and progress

One advantage of immaturity is easy to understand. Immature people are never asked to do a lot. Many have noticed that people steer away from someone they feel may be immature. The immaturity they posses makes a name for themselves, a name which can be very difficult to shake. Possibly, it is a word which describes the working habits of the person, such as "crappy". Yet this creates a positive situation for the immature person. They will have a lot of free time on their hands for more of life's meaningful pleasures. The ideas immature people create tend to be original. Although the immature person thinks with his head, he does not do so in an organized manner. This is why they have so much creativity. By thinking in this fashion, their ideas have a natural tendency to flow more easily, without the interpretations that occur from the editing of thoughts that logic
