Thousands of innocent people are killed every year in the U.S., and many murderers of the killed ones get away with a life sentence in prison or even easier punishment. The death penalty has been used since ancient times to punish cruel criminals. The death penalty is not fair in every murder's case but it is appropriate to punish a killer.
