With Toyota introducing its new and improved 2000 Celica GTS, Acura has met its competition. Acura, launching its first Integra GSR in 1994 with the V-TEC engine, have been dominating the compact sports car in its class for the past five years. Ever since the early 90s, Toyota Celicas have not matched up to the Acura Integras. Now, with a big change in body, style, engine, and performance, the 2000 Toyota Celica GTS, has finally outperformed the Acura Integra GSR. With the same technology used in the Integra GSR, and same engine set up, Toyota has built a car that closely matches up with the Integra GSR.
