Structures of Wembley Stadium

When the new eagerly awaited £400 million Wembley Stadium is completed it will make newspapers in every corner of the world. Everyone on this planet will see groundbreaking building technology and methods, it will be the most advanced stadium in the world and start a new era in sports stadiums. .

The building of the £400 million project is very controversial, people have very mixed views about whether the building work should continue. The main argument for those protesting anti-Wembley stadium is the huge estimated cost of £ 400 million that will mainly be funded by the taxpayer. However there are several other arguments that are anti-Wembley Stadium too. Massive traffic disruption would occur around the location of the new Wembley Stadium; this traffic would consist of both building vehicles and tourists. This traffic would effect the local businesses greatly as they would loose many working hours due to their employees being stuck in the huge traffic jams that are likely to be caused. The public transport around the new Wembley Stadium will have to be improved dramatically as it will have to deal with many times the amount of people using it than before – this will also cost the taxpayer money.

Still there are many people that are supporting the building of the new stadium, it is said that the building of the new Wembley Stadium once completed will produce a over £200 million a year from visitors, this spending will be spent in many different ways such as, pubs, hotels and leisure facilities. This would be almost double what the old Wembley would have generated. On top of this thousands of permanent and temporary jobs will be created, permanently 2,100 jobs will be created and 2,200 jobs will be created for days on which there will be events at the stadium. This will make the stadium among the largest employers in the Brent district where the stadium is situated.
