Who's afraid of virginia woolf

I have read Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf and The Sandbox two plays buy Edward Albee. Edward Albee was born on March 12 1928 in Washington, D.C. If you decide to read any of Albee's plays you will become familiar with the twisted yet realistic views of this playright whose writting's have touched on the subjects which everyone has but no one wants to talk about. Now granted Albee's examples of common life are overexagerated but I feel it helps him get the point across.

I could sit here and bore you with the awards he has recieved and his child hood but I would rather talk about his play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf". The play gives you a battle. On one hand reality which you are allways trying to grasp and on the other illusion which

is with what Albee presents as his reality.

Looking at "the Sandbox " we will find the same characteristics of Albee's unsubtle mindset. "the sandbox" is about a couple and the wifes mother who is very old, and who that the wife and husband wish to be dead so they place her in a sandbox and wait. To me this kind of resembles the modern day nursing or retierment home. But again you can never truly understand what he really ment by it.

In the play there is a wierd and distorted view of life, in that it seems almost if that you were in the position of george (one of the main characters) you would rather be dead because your only other option is to live out the rest of your life being humiliated where ever you go by your wife, stripped of dignity and on
