Interpersonal communication happens to everybody because people have developed this kind of conversation even during their childhood days. Parents who are always busy and spend more time in work than with the family is quite risky with the relationship with their children. Calling y our children while in the office will not eat a lot of time, children need their parents and to be able to feel their presence even when they are not around is to call them. Saying "hi" or "hello" is enough to know that they are fine and they are being loved.
