In July 10, 1509, John Calvin was born. Three years later his mother died. John was raised and surrounded by the Catholic church. His father became the secretary to Bishop de Hangest. Calvin got his schooling from College des Capettes. In 1523, the bubonic plague struck the city and Calvin had to escape and continue his learning in Paris. There he began his studies at the College de la Marche of the University of Paris. His schooling was so important to him that he never missed a lecture. Then he left and in 1526, he enrolled in the College de Montaigu. Then in 1525, his father made him come home and go to a university near him. There he went to a college called the University of Orleans to study law. Then suddenly, in April 1529, many Lutherans were being killed. No Lutheran would be safe from now on. Calvin's father had died in the autumn of 1529, and now he was free to go back to Paris and follow his real calling. Once again, Paris was safe for the reformers. He then began writing his own commentaries there. His first writing was on De clementia, and was published in 1532, which was about forgiveness. On Christmas day, 1559, Calvin collapsed, from years of little sleep and constant labor. Calvin had contracted tuberculosis. Calvin lived almost four more years and preached his last sermon on February 6, 1564, and died on May 27, 1564. they presented their speech in the Church of Manthurins. Calvin and his brother were taken to the prison of Corbaut Gate in Noyon. His brother, Charles was released after a couple of days, but Calvin was there until September.
