The citizens ruled the Athenian democracy. They formed an assembly. The assembly contained freeborn males over thirty. The Athenians sailed to Argos with twenty ships and seized 300 hundred Argives. This shows that Athenian democracy uses force instead of reasoning. Another example would be when the Athenians invaded the island of Melos and gave the Melians two choices, join them and be slaves or, Athenians will kill them and force them to be slaves.
