Insulting your date, physically hitting your date, and

making your date feel uncomfortable or making him or her

worry about his or her safety are a few examples of dating

violence. Dating violence is the abuse of one partner in a

dating relationship by the other partner. Abusive behavior

can include harmful words or actions. Any act by one

partner designed to hurt or control another is a form of

abuse. Women are more likely to experience dating violence,

but in some cases men can experience it too.
