..."Preserve the Wildlife - Driving Impaired Kills Friends"
Impaired driving has become the principle criminal cause of death in Canada. Did you know that each year, about 289,000 people are injured in alcohol-related crashes? This means that one person is injured every two minutes. Not all drunk drivers have caused an injury or fatality, but this doesn't mean we should let them get away with it. The main question that arises is whether or not people who have been convicted of driving under the influence should lose their licence for life. I believe the answer to this question is yes. Adding a lifetime suspension to the penalties of drunk driving will be effective in one way or the other. It will deter other individuals of committing the same offense. It will provide a safer driving environment for our society, and last but not least, it will give family members who have lost love ones to the offense a sense of retribution and relief to know that the convicted will pay a bigger penalty. There are so many penalties that I wish could be implemented to this offense to cut down the number of drunk drivers. U
