Architecture in the baroque time period
ART HISTORY REPORT COMPARING BAROQUE ARCHITECTS TO MODERN DAY ARCHITECTSArchitecture in the baroque time period The typical baroque structure has elements from the classical period, exhibiting an unistructural and over-ornamented building. Buildings from the baroque period appear spacious, passionate, sensual, extravagant and versatile. They also employ techniques never seen before. The baroque time period was also a time of revolutions in science during which many new discoveries were made. These included the fact that light was to form rays and was really made up of waves of particles. New mathematical techniques in analytical geometry and infinitesimal calculus were also formed. These techniques helped provide a basis to calculate the dimensions of the structures the architects were to build. Scientists wanted to know the unknown. They were interested in space, the universe, stars, and planets. Also, as man explored the universe, artists incorporated nature into their artwork. Architects were not excluded. Scientists were also interested in the unseen, like cells. The baroque period was a time of enlightenment. Many new techniques in architecture were formed based on the discoveries made.
Baroque, differences and similarities Although each piece of the building is very complicated, when they are put together they become unified. The unification makes the church seem to pulse. This, unlike the other buildings we have viewed today, is a museum. I was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is located here in Manhattan, on Fifth Avenue. This museum was originally built to show painting by Chagall, Monoly-Nasy, Gleized, Mondrianni, Delausay and Balcomb Greece - all artists of non-objective art.
