As long as the United States has existed, it has been one of the major powers in the world. This is mostly due to their military, which happens to be one of the best. The Republican Party supports investing in and improving the military. This must be done to protect the welfare of the citizens of this nation. Even though the United States is one of the most powerful nations, it still must continue to add to the national security. If this nation fails to improve the security, this will cause the unfortunate downfall of the country.

The Republican Party believes that the American people want a safe and powerful country. I have to agree with this, I do not want to be afraid every time I leave my home. I don't think that Americans will be able to cope if warfare began with another country and this nation was torn apart. The country would be in chaos and it would take time to rebuild a strong country. For these reasons, the Republican Party promotes improving the defense of this country.
