Waiting Periods and Bans on Guns

A detailed Summary of Waiting Periods and Bans on Guns

Gun violence is a tragic crime and a growing epidemic that has killed many people in the United States and has to be stopped. One way to stop the majority of gun violence is to put a waiting period on the purchase of guns. The waiting period will help stop criminals such as drug dealers, gang members, and hate groups from getting guns. States such as New Jersey have put in effect a background check before purchasing a handgun, which has stopped over ten thousand criminals for getting guns. There would be a greater public safety if this were done in all the states. Automatic weapons have been banned because there is no use for those kinds of guns in the public's hand. When waiting periods and bans are put into use this would stop an incredible amount of the bloodshed in this country.

My issues on Sarah Brady essay "A Case Against Firearms" are somewhat different then her issues just by the way we look at firearms. Owning a gun is one of our constitutional rights and does not make us bad people or criminals although some people might think it does. If a person owns a gun they are looked upon as a bad person in Brady's essay because of her views and issues on guns. Brady does not look at gu

Stopping the sale of semiautomatic assault weapons is a must. These types of weapons do not have any legitimate sporting purpose and are dangerous to people. This is why President Bush put a banned on their importation

Another view I share with Brady is that guns violence is an epidemic in this country and is growing larger. The gun violence has to stop to save the country from all the killing and to make the world in general a safer place to live.

Everyday a child loses his or her life to a handgun. Many other children are permanently injured because of careless people leaving guns, especially loaded ones in reach of children. If people can prevent this carelessness from happening the future for our children with be better.

Brady makes some good points in her essay such, as gun violence is becoming an epidemic in this country. Guns are easy to get in most places buy anyone which is bad because guns kill many people each year and the numbers keep getting larger. This may be due to the drug increase throughout the country.

semiautomatic or automatic weapon it would be cheaper and easier to get a stolen one then to buy one. Brady's essay is coming from a person who does not like guns, her husband was shot and almost killed by a gun, and that she talks about the N.R.A. but does she even know anything about the N.R.A. Probable the most important topic I do not understand about Brady's essay is when she agrees with Jim Brady saying "I don't question the rights of the responsible gun owners". Well if you are not questioning the rights and responsible of gun owners what is she talking abo
