The Atomic Bomb 2

The Atomic Bomb is one of the worlds most fierce and devastating weapons of war. It can cause mass destruction of any thing in its path and can leave its scars for hundreds of years, whether it be on the trees that may have survived its blast or the high level of radiation left behind near the area where the explosion occurred. In this paper I will try to explain how the atomic bomb came about. The fact still remains that the atomic bomb can reek havoc on what ever it is dropped to destroy. Also about atomic bombs now is that not only does the United States have them, but almost every nation has a nuclear or atomic bomb in their possession. If World War III were to break out, every nation would be pulverized and billions of people would die or begin to die a slow and painful death due to the radiation exposure. As you may already know the president of the United States of America and others involved in fighting for the nuclear disarmament are working hard trying to banish nuclear weapons because of the pain and the devastation that they can leave behind long after they have gone off.

The Atomic bomb was tested on July16, 1945, at Alamogordo, New Mexico. The power that was unleashed by the Chemists, Physicist, and some other

In the world today I feel that nuclear war fair is a very dangerous and hazardous subject. But the question still remains that if the nations were to go to war than would it be all right if they use the power of the atomic bomb against each other? I, as a student, hope that the government chooses to not use the atomic bomb against other nations during times of war. We have all, at one time or another seen the pictures of the maimed and burned bodies of the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, seen how they were literally unrecognizable as human beings. I pray the government never will.

The bomb on Hiroshima was dropped on August 6, 1945. It had the energy equivalent to about 20 kilotons of TNT. 64,000 people were killed instantly 72,000 were burned and maimed due to the effect of the blast. Out of all the people in Hiroshima only nine survived the blast completely. Out of these nine people scientists received considerable information about what the atomic bomb looks like to what the color of the final blast from a distance of three miles felt like. Scientists later discovered that when people are exposed to the high level of the ions that are given off from the bomb, they eventually develop diseases like skin cancer and some other types of cancer that were never even heard of before. These nine people of Hiroshima were the only people to experience an atomic bomb and live to talk about it. Some of these nine people had to live in Nagasaki, where another atomic bomb was sent to destroy things, and even survived that bombing. The scientists
