A detailed Summary of Being an American


To be an American means many things to me. To be an American means that you are a part of one of the greatest countries in the whole world. To be an American means that you have freedom, to do pretty much what you want, and to say what you want. It means that you have equality, because everyone is given an equal chance in America. It means that you right to go out and chase your dreams, and strive for your goals. To be an American also means that you are a citizen in one of the most diverse countries in the world, and that you must learn to accept everyone and their cultures, because you are one member of an entire country. I think being an American means that you have the basic freedoms that every human being deserves.

The last thing I think it means to be an American is respectful. To be an American you must be respectful, because America is one of the most diverse countries in the world. An American must learn to be very respectful of other people and their cultures. This must also happen all over the world, but more so here in America, because if you meet ten people in a day, chances are most of them will be different nationalities. Unlike in other countries where is mostly one ethnic group, and an American must learn to respect everyone and their beliefs.

To be an American means many things, but to me the things that stand out the most are freedom, equality, and need for respect. These things I think are not only views felt by myself, but many people around the world, and I think that is why we have such a diverse population, because
