Meanwhile you just want to play in your crib with your rattles. You can not even comprehend the concept of your future, but your parents have visualized it and plan to raise you along that plan.

As we grow older, particularly for males we are faced with athletics. Your father signs you up for baseball, soccer, and football. He already expects you to be a three-sport all-star, just like dad. Your father will not leave you be until you're a home run hitting, goal scoring, field-goal kicking machine. He keeps you out in the back yard practicing all night long, rather than doing homework and watching TV.

As we grow older the importance of secondary education and a career increases. Your parents want you to attend the same college as they did. Mom wants you to study law at Princeton, just as she did, while dad wants you to study medicine at Harvard like he did. No matter what path you choose, either mom, dad, or you will be disappointed, because you can not please everyone.
