leather in the weather
Leather in the Weather During the fall and winter, football fans celebrate the weekends ritualistically. With pork rinds in hand, the armchair quarterback guides his team through every play, screaming directions out to each player; telling the coach what plays to call. They forget all troubles of the past week and see only football. Wives tell their husbands to take out the trash, but to no avail. The men hear only the voice of the commentator, the link between the quiet suburbs and the sold out stadiums. During halftime, viewers use the time to reload on snacks, and perhaps unload a few unmentionables. They then return to their recliner furrow and wait for more action while viewing highlights of other games from around the country.Nothing goes better together than football and autumn. The two make a better pair than peas and carrots, peanut butter and jelly, love and marriage, or even (dare I say it) a horse and carriage. They compliment each other better than a guy trying to get a girl in bed on prom night. As the season approaches, football starts to flow through your veins; you can hear the roar of the crowd. Young boys go nowhere without a football in hand; old men reminisce the glory days. Betting pools start up
