Long Journey
A detailed Summary of Long Journey
At a steadily slow pace, the boat creaked along the gloomy waters. The constant rolling motion of the waves wove a spell on everyone's mind, creating a dull world where nothing ever changed except the rolling of the waves and an occasional cry from an infant. Nobody had a clue if they would live through this expedition, but it was a chance they were all willing to take.
The boat of refugees from Vietnam were trapped in a prison of water, desperately searching for the key to their cell, which was American land. Not only were the drifters in complete isolation from the world, but they were in constant fear for their lives. Sickness seemed to overtake them, slowly sucking the life out of the weak. He could just sit there and communicate with the computer, and not worry about having to deal with communicating with people. When his computer skills started to improve, he landed a job at a small software company where he had to program on a picnic bench in the lunchroom. Even though this doesn't sound like your ideal job, it was paradise to Long. This started off his brilliant career in computer programming. Since then he's worked at numerous well heard of places including: Walt Disney, Speedo, Packard Bell, Warnaco (which sells brands such as Calvin Klein, Warner's and Olga), and ma
