During my analysis of two news paper articles concerning measure A printed by the Monterey County Herald, I found that the news coverage was factual and objective while the editorial was also factual but was also very subjective information.

The Heralds article by Tom Akeman titled "Coastal panel questions Measure A"

was a very factual report on measure A and how the coastal commission views measure A. Akeman presented many factual points on what measure A was and how it would affect Monterey County's nature preserves. Amid all of the factual information presented there is definitely an anti measure A attitude from both the reporter and the coastal commission, throughout the article. The author uses many quotes from the Coastal commission's representative Tami Grove, witch don't support measure A. For example Grov


The editor uses many facts to support his opinion of why we don't need measure A, he sarcastically states that "The Pebble Beach company has already committed over 140-acres of Pescadero canyon to open space, after environmental review found it too sensitive to develop. The editor goes on to clarify his opinion of what measure A does, "measure a is nor about halting development. It is about preventing referenda and law suits from halting development." The editorial is closed with the editors opinion of how you should vote on November 7th, he does so be stating "the defeat of measure A just may be the ultimate preservation plan for the Del Monte forest.
